Last Night's Election: Where were you?
Regardless of the results, which appears to be a minimum four more years of the same thing, last night's election seemed to make everbody losers, or at a minimum, a hoser.
The Conservatives didn't get the majority they hoped for.
The Liberals lost more seats and had the lowest popular support in decades.
The Green Party failed to win a seat.
The NDP woke up this morning still being the NDP.
But you know who the real losers are......
There are 23,054,615 eligible voters in Canada. 41% of them failed to get off their asses and vote last night. That means there are 9,452,392 people who were too lazy or didn't care enough about their country to do their civic duty and cast a ballot.
You 9 million folks could have changed the fortunes of every one of these parties and ensured that the elected government had the confidence of knowing they had a nation's support, not just 59% of them. In High School, that gives you a "D" grade.
That makes you a bunch of flippin' hosers. I just wanted to let you know that you've lost the right to bitch about any political issues over the next four years. If you do, the other 13,602,223 of us aren't listening......
