Ticketmaster Blows

Ok, the fun news has been a little slow lately. I'm trying but there hasn't been anything really interesting in the news lately. So allow me to rant.....

Last Friday, tickets for AC/DC went on sale for the single Toronto show on November 7, 2008. I was going to take my son. Contrary to recent prices, the tickets were going for $59 and $99 (rather than $150 plus for other shows like the Eagles).

There are few shows that I really want to see these days. I have seen most of my musical heros: CSNY, Bob Seger, Supertramp, Van Morrison, Rush, etc.....

So I am logged on to my ticketmaster account at 10AM sharp and I am waiting for my turn in the electronic line for seats. It counts down from a 10 minute wait to a three minute wait.

Then, not 15 minutes later, the screen tells me there are no available tickets. I am disappointed and furious.

As if I am not upset enough, within the next half an hour, tickets begin to appear on Craigslist and other ticket sales sites for $500.00 plus apiece. WTF?????? I saw one guy asking $1,300 for floors!

There has to be a way to sell the tickets to people who actually want to go to the show. I can here you all saying "Wow, what a concept."

I already know the answer: there is no way.

So to all of you profiteers who got tickets and are now selling them for huge profits: Good on ya! I hope you rot in hell.
