Today in 1969: Sesame Street Debuts

Not that I really care, but retrospectively, there were some excellent characters developed over the years. Here are a few:

1) Animal: the most incredible animated drummer to ever exist. Man, could he ever work the skins.



2) Count Von Count: Because I love to count!



3) Grumpy Old Men in the Balcony

Well, they were from the muppet show actually, but they cut up everything that went on the show.



4) When muppets go bad.

Was no one else concerned that Ernie and Bert shared a bedroom and appeared to live by themselves? The answer: alternative lifestyle puppets (not that theres anything wrong with that!).
