Hollywood rarely has an original idea anymore. Comic book icons, like Iron Man, have become the most recent fodder for the movie making machine. I post this sketch from 1684 that shows prostethics, splints and body casts, to show that even the comic book has some basis in fact, albeit 400 years old. This is a rendering by Hieronymus Fabricius 'Opera Chirurgica'.
