Almost everyday I find something that just makes me want to laugh, cry or throw up. Therapy is just too expensive so I plan to use this blog to heal myself.
Today is NHL trade deadline day. All the guys in the office are frothing at the mouth waiting for the Toronto Maple Leafs to do ANYTHING that is newsworthy.
I am not.
Once a year, I take my son to a game. This year, it was the worst showcase of hockey skills I ever witnessed at a Toronto game. I was also sitting in $150.00 seats, that is $300 for the pair.
My son, who is not a hockey expert, was bored once he had one period of taking in the Air Canada Centre and finishing his $15 hot dog. It should have been an awesome night. He knew the names of the guys on the ice, but knew none of the men pictured in the banners hanging from the ceiling. How far does this fanchise expect history to carry it?
I was very young when the Leafs last won the Cup. My grandchildren may be very young when they win the next. I am through. This will be the first and only post on the Leafs on this blog. Its really here, not because I am ticked off enough to talk about "the team who shall not be named", I just needed a premiere post to try the whole blog thing out.
Note to self: Cross "blog" off of list of things to do.
Oh, and the whole Leaf organization can politely shove off. There you have it.
