I never was this lucky fishing!
For the second time this week, I am posting a picture of an unusually large and lucky catch by fisherman. This one is a 14 foot, 1000 pound LIVE giant stingray. I don't think anyone really likes the guy in the green shirt because they made him hold the tail. Those tails can easily kill (remember Steve Irwin).
This photo is located on National Geographic's website. The guy in the cap is heading a project to try to locate and survey giant stingrays in Thailand. Apparently it is next to impossible to catch these as, once hooked, they bury themselves in the muck on the bottom, or easily break lines and hooks as thick as your thumb.
Myself, I would have volunteered to take the picture. Did I mention this thing was live?
